    Brief introduction

      The lab is used to measure, calibrate and develop micro-displacement equipments and devices, it is one of high-technology labs with the highest measurement resolution and precision in China。

    Staff

      The lab has 2 research fellows (electronics and computer automation), 1 doctor (photoelectron technology), three postgraduates.

    Research field

    1): measurement and calibration of high precision displacement or length apparatus in astronomical telescope;

    2): high precision displacement actuator in segmented mirror system;

    3): high precision displacement sensor in segmented mirror system;

    4): following with the international advanced telescope technology to develop new technology.

    Instruments

    1): Clean room with constant temperature and humidity

    Specification:

    •  operating temperature range: 20 ~ 25 ℃ ; stability: ± 0.2 ℃ , uniformity: ± 0.2 ℃ ;

    •  humidity: 50 ± 5%;

    •  clean degree: about 2000 degree.

    2): Dual-frequency laser interferometer

    Type: JENAer ZLM800 (all optical parts are made by ZEISS), specification as follows:

    •  measurement range: 0~40m;

    •  resolution: 1.25nm;

    •  precision: 15nm;

    •  relative precision: 0.22ppm;

    •  maximum velocity: 3.2m/s;

    •  wavelength stability: 2 × 10 -9 (1 hour), 2 × 10 -8 (lifetime).

    3): Virtual instrument

    •  software: Labview 7.1;

    •  hardware: multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator, motor controller, data acquisition card
