On May,2007,first light and first spectrum was obtained for small lamost ahead of schedule (31days).

On June 29th,2007,the acceptance meeting of the small LAMOST system organized by the Bureau of Basic Research of Chinese Academy Sciences (CAS), was held in Beijing, with more than 20 experts in astronomy, astronomical instrument, optics, precision machinery, electronics and management attending. Before the meeting, an small experts group checked the small system item by item on site in the Xinglong station of National Astronomical Observatories. The experts joining the meeting unanimously agreed that the small LAMOST system is acceptable.

on July 27th,2007,Lu Yongxiang, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, together with other high rank officials, inspected the LAMOST project in progress in the Xinglong Station of National Astronomical Observatories.Present Lu gave sufficient affirmation and high appraisal
    to lamost,meanwhile made important indication.

After the success of the small LAMOST system, the success rate of the fiber positioning was up to 97%.Before the Spring Festival of 2008, the LAMOST project had achieved the goal that two-third or even more mirrors (16 sub-mirrors among 24 in total of MA, 24 sub-mirrors among 37 in total of MB)were assembled and adjusted.Eight of the sixteen spectrographs assembled on site have completed its mechanical, electric and optical tests.

All these has paved the way for the overall success of the LAMOST project on 2008 and lays a solid foundation for the future scientific observation goal.
