On February 27 2007,“active optics experimental telescope facility” undertaken by NIAOT obtained second class prize of national science & technology progress award。
It is first reflecting Schmidt telescope adopting active optics technology with 1.1m Schmidt corrector in the world。
It use active optics technology to successfully make hexagonal thin plane mirror produce tilted-axis aspherical surface for compensation of optical system errors。That is one of key technology for reflecting Schmidt telescope with large aperture and wide field of view。
