Key project of National Natural Science Foundation of China “Fabrication technology of astronomical mirror with large aperture and high accuracy” received second class prize of national science & technology progress award in 2005
On the morning of 9 January 2006，Prof.CuiXiangqun（director of NIAOT) as representative attended National science & technology congress and received the award。
Congratulatory letter written by LuYongxiang (President of CAS) was delivered to NIAOT at the same day。
