    Brief introduction

      The research department specializes in new technology and method for developing ground and space telescope with large aperture and high resolution。Indoor and outdoor thin mirror active optics lab , large aperture segment mirror active optics lab,mechanism-electronics lab,micro—displacement lab,mirror cementation lab attach to the research department 。

    Technology of advantage:

    1):optimization design of astronomical optical system

    2):structural optimization design of large telescope

    3):mirror supporting technology for large aperture telescope

    4):active optics with large aperture ( thin mirror active optics and segment mirror active optics)

    5):tracking technology with low speed and high accuracy

    Researching and developing project:

    1):Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST)

    2):Infrared solar telescope with aperture of 1M

    3):Proposal and pre-research of key technology for optical/infrared telescope with aperture of 30-100m

    4):Proposal and pre-research of relative technology for space telescope with large aperture

    5):adaptive optics with large aperture

    6):friction driven technology with high accuracy for alt-azimuth mounting

    7):Integrated modeling of the astronomical telescope

      The research department has 36 professional person including 10 research fellows and 11 senior engineers。
