On December 10,2021, the 3.2-meter box vacuum coating machine commissioned by Nanjing Institute of Astronomical and Optical Technology (NIAOT), Chinese Academy of Sciences passed the factory acceptance.
In recent years, NIAOT astronomical coating team conducted research on improving the film spectral reflectance, film environmental adaptability and film diversity, mastered a variety of key technologies, such as ultraviolet enhanced high reflection film with wide spectrum, modified layer on silicon carbide substrate surface, large caliber mirror frost film on extreme cold environment, high precision astronomical filter film, which were applied on multiple research projects.
Based on the demand of large astronomical observation equipment in China, NIAOT officially started the development of 3.2-meter box vacuum coating machine in early 2021.
