On December 16, 2019, the first National Symposium on Astronomical Photonology was held at the Nanjing Institute of Astronomical Optics & Technology (NIAOT) , Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Professor Lu Yanqing (Vice President of Nanjing University), Professor He Jinping (NIAOT), Professor Zhao Yongheng (National Astronomical Observatories) , Professor Liu Zhong (Yunnan Observatories), Professor Ji Jianghui (Purple Mountain Observatory) , and Professor Sun Weimin, (School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Harbin University of Engineering ), gave reports entitled "preliminary study of liquid Crystal Optics", "Astronomical Photon Technology and Application Prospect", "LAMOST Spectral Sky Survey", “Advanced ground-based Solar observatory”, “Frontier Science research of exoplanets” and “Astronomical Application of Optical Fiber Integration Technology”, respectively.

Then, professor Cheng ya,(dean of the school of physics and electronic sciences of east china normal university), and professor feng jijun (shanghai university of science and engineering) introduced the progress on integrated waveguide array astronomical photon spectroscopy with high-resolution and high-precision, which is a key project of the national natural science foundation.
