The eighth Symposium on Frontier Technologies of Astronomical telescopes and observation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait was successfully held in Taiwan, China,from September 2 to September 5, 2019.

The participants introduced the plans and progress of a number of astronomical and space equipment that are being developed and planned on both sides of the strait, including China's 12-meter optical / infrared telescopes, the dark matter particle detection satellite(Wukong), Antarctic astronomical equipment, square kilometer radio array SKA, advanced space-based solar observatory, advanced ground-based solar observatory, ASIAA optical infrared scientific instrument, 2m telescope program for University of Science and Technology of China, etc.

Related cutting-edge technologies on telescope, scientific instrument and data processing as well as observation site etc were deeply discussed.
