On October 19 2017，Mr.Piero Benvenuti （general secretary of International Astronomical Union and science adviser of EIE group of Italy、Mr.Marchiori Gianpietro （president of EIE group）and Mr.Tordi Massimiliano (technical director of EIE group) visited NIAOT to conduct discussion on future possible cooperation。

During visiting，firstly，an introduction on telescope structure、dome and project management of EIE group was given，prof.Zhu Yongtian （director of NIAOT）etc introduced promoting Chinese National Major Science and Technology Infrastructure Projects（Chinese large optical/infrared telescope、Antarctic Observatory on Kunlun station）and undertaking projects of NIAOT。

After that，possible cooperation in the future between EIE group and NIAOT was discussed。 

EIE group has been responsible for a number projects of astronomical telescope and dome，such as NTT and TNG。

As a partner，EIE group took part in several famous astronomical projects，including general review and cost accounting of VLT、LBT、TMT and GMT。 

At present，EIE group is undertaking E-ELT project of European Southern Observatory。
