Recently,Nanjing Institute of Astronomical Optics & Technology has participated in developing the project which is called the development of the one-meter new vacuum solar telescope and its application in solar observations。And it has achieved the award of scientific and technological progress in Yunnan Province of 2015。
In the progress of the one-meter new vacuum solar telescope (NVST),Nanjing Institute of Astronomical Optics & Technology is responsible for the development and alignment of optics and mechanical systems of the telescope and main contributions of the project team are as follows。First, they have completed early and final design of main structure and transmission system of the telescope and developed design technology of large-diameter symmetrical vacuum solar telescope。Second, they have designed and developed the optical support structure and a truss structure within deflection which independent of the vacuum tube。
The Multiple temperature control and radiating technology of telescope based on liquid conduction have also been developed。
Third,by making use of numerical alignment technology in NVST site alignment, the composite wave aberration (RMS) of optical system is less than 1/8 wavelength which has reached the requirements of high resolution solar observatory。
At last, the project team have completed double calculation and parts processing of optical system。 And they have also helped finish the development of large vacuum windscreen of NVST。
NVST is located in the northeastern coast of Fuxian,Chengjiang County,Yunnan Province。It is the main equipment of optical and near-infrared observations on solar in our subject of solar physics and space sciences in China。
Its main science objective are high-resolution observations on solar in 0.3 to 2.5 micron wave band, world's largest vacuum telescope, one of three advanced terrestrial solar observation system by the international peer recognition。
At present, the project is being recommended to National Science and Technology Progress Award of 2016 by Yunnan Province。
