On 15 October 2011,scheme evaluation meeting of high resolution spectrograph was held in Nanjing。

Related leaders and experts from National Astronomical Observatory、National Natural Science Foundation and Nanjing Institute of Astronomical Optics & Technology as well as members of high-resolution spectrograph project group participated in the meeting, which prof.Zhao Gang(deputy party secretary of the National Astronomical Observatory) chaired the meeting。

Project group presented three Scheme of high resolution spectrograph according to condition of LAMOST and Xinglong station site。

After listening to pre-research report of project scheme ,specialists conducted discussion about scientific objective and scheme for the project。

Considering all the factors, scheme for the project was initially identified, which the project will adopt 2"fiber and big grating with aperture of 800mm (currently the largest size for single grating in the world)。Meanwhile feasibility of immersion grating will be investigated and researched。

Technical parameters such as wavelength coverage and resolution etc for the high resolution spectrograph was identified and simultaneous calibration be required to adopt as well as laser frequency comb interface to pre-reserve at the meeting。

The experts also recommended that existing optical fiber positioning unit for positioning meanwhile overall considering the methods of observation and optical switching mode for fibre。

NIAOT will be responsible for development of the largest high resolution spectrograph in China。

It is expected to conduct evaluation for overall scheme of of the project at the end of 2011
