On October 29 2007，Dr.G.W.VAN CITTERS(director of astronomical department of National Science Foundation) and Dr.Thomas G.Barnes（project manager of optical and near infrared device）visited NIAOT。

   After giving brief introduction of niaot，Zhuyongtian(vice-director of NIAOT) accompany Dr.G.W.VAN etc to visit mirror lab，MA test lab of lamost，segmented-mirror test lab and solar telescope mounting site。

   Bilateral parts conducted exchange and discuss on scientific project management and astronomocal research direction。
